Launch of a new Master degree Program in Clinical Optometry

Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy of the Republic of Moldova will launch a new Master degree Program in Clinical Optometry for the academic year 2022-2023, with a duration of 2 years.
The Clinical Optometry program aims to train specialists capable of providing eye health care services. It is focused on promoting and using modern technologies, mainly in the efficient management of eye refractive errors, eye examination and vision testing, advanced contactology, potential contact lens complications and their treatment, targeted screening of visually impaired patients and rehabilitation methods, as well as the prevention of eye diseases among the population.
The program offers the opportunity to deepen knowledge and expand professional horizons for Bachelors of Optometry as well as advanced training in the field of eye care for other health specialists (doctors, opticians, nurses and nursing program graduates, etc.).
The Master's degree professionalization program in Clinical Optometry has the mission to train young specialists, holders of Master's degree in medical diagnosis and treatment technologies, who possess abilities, knowledge, transversal competencies and professional skills, which meet the requirements and expectations of employers and are confirmed by a Master's diploma with 120 transferable credits, giving the possibility to continue higher education by completing a doctorate.
This is an innovative program, as it has been developed taking into consideration the complex and multidisciplinary nature of optometrists’ activity, in order to ensure their continuous training.
