Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy of the Republic of Moldova participated for the second consecutive year in the 2026 Annual Conference and Exhibition of the European Association for International Education (EAIE), one of Europe’s most important events dedicated to the internationalization of higher education.

The event was held in Glasgow, United Kingdom, from 8 to 11 September this year. Our university was represented by Victoria Cravet, Vice-Rector for Economic and Financial Management, and Evelina Gherghelegiu, Head of the Department of External Relations and European Integration.

This year, for the first time, higher education institutions from our country had the opportunity to showcase their activities at the joint “Study in Romania & Republic of Moldova” stand, at the invitation of the National Council of Rectors of Romania. The initiative provided a valuable platform for promoting our universities, developing new partnerships, and strengthening international academic cooperation.

An important part of the programme was the meeting between the delegations from Romania and the Republic of Moldova and EAIE representatives, during which opportunities to access the training and professional development programmes offered by the association were discussed.

EAIE representatives highlighted cooperation with Romania and the Republic of Moldova as a priority and proposed the possibility of accessing certain educational programmes under preferential conditions. At the same time, the delegations explored the possibility of establishing a participation package with negotiated fees for one representative from each university in the two countries.

Participation in EAIE 2026 provided an opportunity for Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy and for universities from the Republic of Moldova to strengthen their international visibility, expand their collaboration networks, and create new opportunities for their academic communities.

In 2025, the Republic of Moldova was represented at EAIE by Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy, the Technical University of Moldova, Moldova State University, and the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova. This year, the delegation was also joined by the Academy of Music, Theatre and Fine Arts. The Erasmus+ Office in Moldova also participated in the event.
